Turnover of the Group amounted to £168m which was satisfactory and profits of £3.1m which were in line with our prudent expectations. Our forward order book for 2008 stands at £160m and thus our expectations of exceeding £200m in the current year are within our grasp.
Alongside the development of our core subsidiaries we have continued to strengthen our environmental credentials, with Ibex achieving ISO 14001 accreditation, continue our work with academia and to contribute to industry development initiatives.
In recognition of the role played by our operating subsidiaries and in our wish to clear the confusion with regard to our concrete subsidiary, which will remain as John Doyle Construction, we have re-branded the Group as Doyle Plc through a simple name change effective from 1st July 2008. We believe this will give greater prominence not only to the individual subsidiaries but also our collective skills as a Group.
Looking ahead, we expect 2009 and 2010 to be tough years for our industry but remain confident that with the enduring support of our good clients, our supply chain and our excellent and dedicated employees that we will continue to develop the business at a cautious but sustainable rate and for that we must finish by thanking them all.
