The group’s origins can be traced to the 1960’s when the original engineering business was founded. Through organic, growth, diversification and acquisition the business grew steadily until in 1999 the businesses local authority outsourcing and facilities management subsidiaries were demerged to form Accord Plc. Since then the remaining construction group has had a stable existence.

In May 2006, as part of an ongoing succession strategy, the business was the subject of an MBO backed by the Bank of Scotland.
